When building or growing a business, we often hear about the importance of being “aligned.” It’s one of those buzzy words that gets thrown around in entrepreneurial spaces, usually tied to concepts like finding your purpose, being authentic, or pursuing your passion. But here’s the thing: alignment doesn’t always feel good. In fact, being aligned in your business can feel very uncomfortable—and that’s OK.

The Myth of Alignment as Comfort

There’s a common misconception that alignment equals ease. That when you’re aligned with your mission, your values, and your work, everything will feel natural and flow effortlessly. But this is a dangerous myth. It sets up the expectation that if something feels hard, it must not be the right fit.

The truth is, alignment isn’t about comfort. It’s about conviction. It’s about staying connected to the “why” behind what you’re doing, even when the “how” feels overwhelming.
